The Pearly White Gates Are Open

Today was a very sad day for me -- yet a happy celebration as my grandmother Nana passed away. She was 98 years old and the most amazing woman in the world! She had the best sense of humor and disposition on life. I will miss her so much and know she has joined her brother Harvey, her mother and her two children, Tom and Patty on a big fluffy white cloud. Nana, may your soul rest in peace. I love you dearly and will miss you always!

Happy Birthday to ME

I still can't believe I am 30! Joe says the best gift was one baby per decade -- I suppose he is right, not bad.

We started the birthday weekend with a float trip on Saturday morning and Grati swam the entire 5 miles!!!! The sun was shining over the perfectly blue sky. It was a PERFECT day with my husband. We came home, took a long nap and headed to Sydney Street for a great tastey dinner.

Sunday, we shopped for my new camcorder. I bought the Cannon Elura and can't wait to take TONS of film of our new little people.

Sunday night, my mom surprised me with a SURPRISE party!!! It was so much fun -- she had all of my family and all of Joe's family. Quite brave of her seeing as there are 30 McAuliffes and 20 of us. HUGE CREW!!!

Monday, the big birthday day was a little quiet. Joe bbq'd me an awesome filet mignon.

Babies still growing and the acid reflux is getting a little worse. I load up on Tums most nights after dinner.

They are MOVIN'

I finallly felt solid thumps of movement -- that is so much fun!!! I know baby B and C have kicked me, but A is hidden too well. Joe doesn't think it is fair I get to feel them and he doesn't. Life is full of trade off's, eh?

Started working on the nursery -- meaning I moved out the big Queen sized bed and started clearing out the "stuff" in the room. I am excited to paint the armoire and get it set-up in there. Stay tuned on that one.

I went to the Twins Club sale on Saturday. Now, let me just tell you about MY experience with the Mothers of Twins Club. My friend Maura (has 11 week old twins) and I decided to join the Twins Club for the sales they have twice a year. So, we went to the dinner meeting and thought we would check it out. It could have become a GREAT script for Seinfeld. I explained to the woman at the check-in that I didn't want to pay $26 for 2006 AND $26 dues for 2007 until I knew how applicable the twins group would be. And the woman looked at me with the DIRTIEST look and said, "haven't you BEEN to THE sale? You act like it is a big garage sale!" And Maura and I laughed and laughed.

So, this Saturday was the KILLER sale -- and we had a BALL! We went earlier than the public because we are members. I filled and entire trash bag with newborn twin boy outfits and some must-have girl pieces -- all for $85! It was AWESOME!!! I didn't buy any equipment.

Joe was in Colorado golfing for one last hoorah!

The weigh down begins

Today is the first day I can REALLY feel it!!! I am SOOOOOOOO tired and feel so big! As a matter of fact, I measured and my nice thick belly measures in at 42 inches! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT??? I can barely bend over to tie my shoes and I am out of breath even thinking of walking up the stairs.

The good news, the carpet was installed in the basement today and the painter finished painting the living room navy -- it looks KNOCK OUT!

20 weeks and the flu hits

We chose a pediatrician (or should I say I chose) and decided to introduce him to Joe. We went to dinner with the new doctor and his wife on Saturday night for a really tastey steak!!! mmmmm!!! I got home and was stuffed to the gills -- off to bed I went for an uneventful night of sleep, right? WRONG -- I felt terrible all night. I woke up Sunday morning to violently throw up everything I had eaten the night before. I had no energy and felt as though someone had sucked the life out of me. I slept the entire day hoping to feel better come Monday, which I did.
