The Nursery is COMPLETE!!!! YIPPEE!!!!

Well, as promised, I took pictures of the completed nursery! I absolutely LOVE it and hope our babies do too. The dresser was the first accomplishment and I really enjoyed painting that. I chose the nursery rhyme theme because you can really only get away with that while they are little and with a little girl AND two boys -- you can't go wrong with the Cow Jumped Over the Moon! And I looked online to find the perfect window cover treatment. I found the cutest green toile Humpty Dumpty fabric by J. Kaufman and quickly turned that into Roman shades. Then, we filled the closet. I bought TONS of hand me down clothes from the multiples sales, took giveaways from people and spent weeks cleaning clothes! It was right around then that I went onto bedrest. I was slowing down physically, but my mind still racing to the finishline. I have had SO MUCH HELP! I am truly a blessed woman. My friend Peggy has been SO AWESOME! She came over and asked what I really really wanted done before those little rascals arrived and she TORE IT UP! The final touch was the nursery walls -- she painted them green for me which made a HUGE difference. After that, we hit the mission to buy cribs. All 3 cribs were gifts from VERY special fairy grandparents!!! We were very blessed by that and bought brand spankin' new matching Cherry wood cribs that look fabulous with the green walls. After that, I decided to make canvas name hangings for each baby -- that was SOOOO much fun! (Now we need names to add to those :) My mother-in-law made new cushions for the rocker out of leftover Humpty Toile and the nursery is done! I added a furry rug that I fell in love with at Pottery Barn kids...Only thing left, 3 babies to fill the room!

Happy Turkey Day

If you had asked me in June where I would be for Thanksgiving, I would have told you in the hospital and hopefully not the NICU with our new babies! Lucky for me and our litle family, I have had a GREAT pregnancy and was able to go to my in-laws for a phenomenal Thanksgiving feast!!!! We had a great night and I ate so much that I was completely miserable and stole ALL the pillows in our bed that night. I am actually impressed Joe hasn't left for the guest room bed yet -- he has been a trooper!

31Weeks 4 days

Ok, at this point, the days count!!!! I am hanging in there and anxious for 32 weeks to hit. My babies are surely around 3.5lbs. I would imagine and all taking on great personalities. Our little girl doesn't move much, but that is probably due to the fact that she is taking on her female role of holding up the boys -- she is on the WAY bottom! We saw her little fingers in my cervical ultrasound last week. Baby "b"ounce -- is a mover and shaker and likes to play with his brothers toes.

My neighbor came over last night and she is 36 weeks with a little boy -- we took a picture....I can't wait for our kids to all meet!!!

My friend Kathleen Hurley came by to give me the best gift in the whole world from my college buddies!!!! They are the greatest -- they bought us our MUCH needed pack and play AND gave us a gift certificate to Babies R Us. What would a gal do without amazing friends?

For those of you that don't quite understand just how big I am and why I can no longer ROLL OVER in bed -- it is actually several scooches before I can turn, I will attach the latest belly shot -- UNREAL to me!!! Now, if you are like my husband, you might say, "peggy, stop sticking it out!" I laughed SO hard when he said that because I didn't know if he was talking about my stomach poking out beyond my toes or my rear end that looks like it was left in the kitchen! Either way, it was a GOOD laugh!!!!

The nursery is done -- that will be my next post! And we are now officially just waiting....

Well, although I have almost completed my 31st week, I thought I would post the latest picture and update from 29 1/2 weeks...I can't believe I share pictures of me looking sooo couch driven -- you would think I would put on some makeup, but sorry my dear friends, not in the cards these days!!!

Then, I couldn't resist to share with you the daddy picture of the week -- Joe did a great job setting up three cribs!!!!

I can't believe how big my belly is getting. I have had tons of visitors including my dear friend Kathleen Hurley, my mom and grandma, my mother and father-in-law, dear aunt nellie, beth mcleod, melissa newbold, allison coulter and my sisters!

The long and short of "The Cervix"

I decided I would take a few minutes to explain the challenges of the cervix. In a traditional singleton pregnancy, you are pregnant for 40 weeks and you start with a cervix, the birthing tunnel if you will, about 4 cm. in length. As you get closer to the delivery of your new little angel, your uterus grows and grows like a beach ball growing over time. All the while, this beach ball is sitting on top of the cervix. As the "ball" or uterus and baby get bigger, they apply more and more pressure on this cervix creating the nice long canal to shorten. It shortens all the way to 0 at which point the mamma dilates and the baby is delivered.

Well, when you have three babies in that uterus -- your beach ball inflates much quicker. So, with multiple babies, they measure my cervix regularly because if it was 0 too early, I would go into preterm labor too quickly. This has been my problem. Let me re-cap this for you in terms of length:

Up to 27 weeks -- over 4cm -- quite impressive!!!!
Oct. 20 -- 27 weeks pregnant and still a strong 3.7cm
Oct. 28 -- 28 weeks pregnant, but down to a 3 causing my doctor to admit me to the hospital.
Oct. 30 -- still strong at 3, so they released me to home bedrest because of the maintenance of cervical length
Nov. 3 -- 29 weeks pregnant -- still 3cm, so doctor was happy -- holding at 3! Went home, with my packed hospital bags -- YEAH!!!
Nov. 10 -- 30 weeks pregnant and guess what? 2.2cm YIKES!!!! To GREAT surprise, the doctor that reviewed my films let me go home. I know I am in trouble now. I see my own doctor on Tuesday and hopefully, he won't admit me on demand.

Just need 2 more weeks to 32 and I need to make it!!!!! We can DO IT!
